Structured knowledge, not just text

Unstructured input becomes observations and candidate knowledge connected to identifiable entities, events and relationships. Entity resolution allows knowledge to compound across time and sources.

Confidence and provenance

AI output is probabilistic. Evidence, confidence and provenance are therefore architectural concerns. Important derived knowledge should remain traceable to supporting information.

Time changes truth

“This is true” and “this was true” are different statements. Knowledge can become stale, conflict with newer information, be corrected, superseded or strengthened.

Relationships are first-class knowledge

The relationship between facts can be more valuable than either fact alone. Cambrius connects people, organizations, events, observations, documents, knowledge, actions and outcomes.

From search to awareness

Retrieval answers a question. Organizational intelligence should also evaluate authorized information for risks, opportunities, contradictions, stale knowledge, emerging relationships and recurring problems. The goal is relevant awareness.
